Many New Zealanders make a provision in their will for bequests to be left to organisations they would like to support. These are sometimes left for a specific purpose or for general running expenses.
If you would like to make a bequest to New Zealand Bird Rescue your lawyer can advise you on how to do this, or for further information contact our office on 816 9216 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
You may like to prepare a form like the example below and pass it to your legal advisor to include in your will:
“I GIVE AND BEQUEATH free of all duties to The New Zealand Bird Rescue Charitable Trust the sum of Dollars ($.......................) for the general purposes thereof AND I DECLARE that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer or other officer thereof shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my Trustees for the said legacy nor shall my Trustees be bound to see to the application thereof”.
Please note that your bequest must be written into your will and signed by you.
